'The Diamond Heart Deception' is a sequel to the 'The Silk Fist Conspiracy'. This novel takes the same leading characters who must once again face a mysterious and devastating attack on Britain, USA and France by an armada of unstoppable and deadly destructive drones called Diamond Hearts. The three officers from Britain, USA and India face individual possibly fatal challenges before coming together to solve the mystery of the reason of the Diamond Heart deception through a series of hard-won clues and intense adventures.
I enjoyed writing about the characters in 'The Silk Fist Conspiracy', and the book receiving such a good positive reaction, that I wanted to bring back the same main characters to face the topical and potentially prevalent threat from the increasing use of drone technology.
In my review of Stedman's first novel in this so-called Trident series I compared him, favourably, to Tom Clancy, and this follow-up triumphantly confirms my judgement. A thumping good read and a fascinating page turner. Kept me rooting for the likeable good guys right until the last sentence.
I thought Stedman would be hard pressed to come up with something as gripping as The Silk Fist Conspiracy but he has rounded up the same core group of characters and unleashed them into a fascinating and entertaining situation. For chapter after chapter you are desperate to know what happens next and Stedman rarely disappoints. Take this on holiday and if it's raining, who cares!
