They gather allies from surprising and sometimes powerful sources to uncover clues. The world panics and demands answers. Trident is scoffed at by experts and tripped up by unknown enemies but discover vital evidence that forces their political masters to believe that the plot exists. Hampered by political timidity, Trident must investigate without official sanction to uncover the shocking purpose of the series of man-made disasters. They must act, fast and alone, against a deadly foe to prevent the world being plunged into war and chaos.
The Ocean Sunburst Treachery is the third novel in the Trident series, after The Silk Fist Conspiracy and The Diamond Heart Deception. It features the same three main characters and it was fun to revisit them and set them a new set of challenges. I cannot say too much about the plot, without giving away too much detail, but the scientific basis of the plot is entirely true and is actually happening now! If, after reading the book, you want evidence to support that claim I will send you a newspaper article which, by amazing coincidence, appeared in the same week as my book was launched!
Stedman's first two Trident thrillers are as good as I've ever read, and that includes Frederick Forsyth and Tom Clancy, so I was excited to learn of this third episode, and I wasn't disappointed. There are enough cliffhangers to satisfy Sherpa Tenzing and some twists at the end that I defy anyone to see coming. Tremendous entertainment!
